Common Job Interview

i often heard from student about job interview during my university lecture. Hope this post will be helpful for all the Job seekers especially my college student.

Let’s get started!!

Definitely, Job interview is a formal meeting in which interviewer (Job Provider) asks questions to interviewee (Job Seekers) in order to find out if they are suitable for the job.

Of course, Job Interview is very important because it connects both the employers and the job seekers.

Specially, the purpose of Job interview is twofold: It shows the employer what you can do for the company, and it gives you an opportunity to assess whether your qualifications and career ambitions align with the position.

Types of Job Interviews?
Commonly, there are two types of job interviews.

  1. Traditional
  2. Behavioral

Obviously, there isn’t a difference in the actual format of the job interview. But, the only difference is in the type of interview questions.

Traditional interview

Here, undoubtedly, interviewers may ask series of questions which typically have straightforward answers.

Sample Traditional job questions:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why have you chosen this particular job?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Do you have any questions for me?

Behavioral interview

Surely, interviewers want to know how you acted and handled a situation in behavioral interview.

Behavioral job questions:

  • what you do when your schedule is interrupted ?
  • Describe a stressful situation at work and how you handled it.
  • Could you give an example how you set goals and achieve them?
  • Better use STAR (Situation, Task, Action, and Result) method in answering behavioral questions.

STAR methods

STAR methods describe the situation or challenge you were in (Situation). Also describe your role and responsibility (Task). Further, explain how you handled the situation to complete the task (Action) and Close with the result of your efforts that you have made (Result).

Finally, you will keep updated for my  new post with out a doubt in the interview category.
